HAVERHILL - Valentyna Marchenko (Bogdanova), 68, of Haverhill, MA passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019 with family by her side.

Born in Otynya, Ivano-Frankivs'k region of Ukraine on December 3rd, 1951, graduated as a Pharmacist from Zaporizhzhya Medical Academy in 1974, where she met and married the love of her life, Yevhen Marchenko. Together they started a family and moved to Chernivtsi, Ukraine where Valentyna worked as a Pharmacist in several city pharmacies, rising to the position of Deputy Pharmacy Manager in city pharmacy #6. She was loved and respected by all her friends and patients, who seeked her wisdom and kind advice.

In 2006 the family moved to Chicago, where Valentyna made many new close friends at EWIMA Healthcare office. In 2014 the family moved to Haverhill, MA to be closer to their sons.

Valentyna is survived by her husband of 49 years Yevhen Marchenko of Haverhill, MA; sons Dmitry and Sergey; daughter in law Yekaterina of Milford, NH. Valentyna has resided with her family in Haverhill, MA for the last five years. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Volodymyr and Raisa Bogdanov, of Otynya, Ukraine and is survived by one sibling, Natalya Vlasyuk, of Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine. Valentyna also has many nieces and nephews.

Valentyna's biggest contribution to all was her caring and loving nature that was a gift. She had an infectious smile, friendly nature that always lit up the room. She loved her family and friends with no bounds always caring for others.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning, December 31, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
