Obituary

FRAMINGHAM - Richard Arthur Kizik, 82, a resident of Framingham, Massachusetts, passed away on October 20, 2018.

Richard was born on September 12, 1936, the son of Olivia (Taurinsky) Kizik and Joseph Kizik, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was raised in Brighton, MA. Richard always had a strong work ethic, leaving high school in 1952 to work at a horse farm in Marlborough, MA where he trained and cared for horses. He spent most of his adult life working at Chelsea Industries, where he sold shoe fabric to many notable clients including Nike, Cole Haan, Walk-Over, L.L Bean, and the like. To keep busy in his retirement years, Richard was employed by Carmel Terrace as a security guard, formally retiring in January 2013. Nothing defined Richard quite like enjoying a nice meal surrounded by family and friends while telling a good story about his many adventures in life. His retirement years were enjoyed spending quality time with family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, plays, and recitals, vegging out to fulfil his love of old western movies and cheering for his favorite teams; the Red Sox and Patriots. He will be remembered for his generosity, ability to host the kind of parties you'd want to be at, and his gift of gab.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna, married for exactly 34 years, coincidentally passing on their wedding anniversary; his children Gary Kizik of Northborough, MA, Laurie and her fiancé Kim (Dowe) Kizik of Holliston, MA, Rick and his wife Janine (Healey) Kizik of Norfolk, MA, Bob and his wife Christine (Hartford) Kizik of Exeter, NH, and Kevin Kizik of Framingham, MA. His love for his grandchildren never faltered, Shannon, Julia and Ellen, Caroline, Cameron, and Caleb, Carter and Nadia. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives.

A Mass of celebration of Richard's life will be held at St. Patrick's Manor at 863 Central Street, Framingham, MA 01701 on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:15 AM, with visitation before beginning at 10:15 AM. Please take time to reminisce and remember Richard in your own way.

St. Patrick's Manor was Richard's home for the last three and a half years, he received excellent care, so in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Patrick's Manor in his name to the attention of "Donations" to the aforementioned address, or to Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org/ways-to-give
